#VoicesOfFlint
It has been a long seven years for our neighbors in Flint. Thousands of Flint residents, especially the children of Flint, were poisoned because of the decisions made by elected officials and government bureaucrats.
They deserve justice. They deserve restitution.

In August, 2020, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that the state of Michigan reached a $600 million agreement to compensate Flint residents for the state's role in failing to protect them from lead-tainted water. Then, in November, 2020, Governor Whitmer revealed that the total cost of the settlement to the taxpayers of Michigan would actually be $1.05 billion!
This is the largest legal settlement in the history of the State of Michigan. Unfortunately for the people of Flint, out-of-state plaintiff attorneys are poised to make millions while Flint residents get little to show for their suffering because of the failing of elected officials and government bureaucrats.
At the same time, the state of Michigan and plaintiff attorneys are trying to deflect blame away from these elected officials and government bureaucrats and point fingers elsewhere. These frivolous lawsuits are nothing more than another way to cash in on this crisis.
That’s why MiLAW has launched the Voices of Flint. We want to raise the voices of the people affected by this. True justice is getting restitution from the elected officials and government bureaucrats who caused the crisis.
We at MiLAW agree, the settlement to bring #JusticeforFlint is “disrespectful” because out-of-state plaintiff lawyers will be raking in millions of dollars on the backs of the people of Flint.
Flint needs justice, not a payday for lawyers!
